Written By Michelle…

After a successful launch in February this year, Fusion Wedding Events are holding a second Vintage and Handmade Wedding Fair, a wedding fair for brides, grooms and wedding guests that love all things vintage and handmade.

The event will take place at Mill Hall, Newbury on Sunday 22nd September 2013 from 10am to 3pm, with free admission for all.

The wedding fair will include many wonderful vintage and handmade wedding suppliers, over thirty in fact, each bringing their own special services and products to the event. For those of you that just can’t wait until the 22nd September, here is a sneaky peek:

Baked By Butterflies - Freshly baked wedding cakes in a wide range of flavours and designs.

Elk & Me - Unique and alternative handmade felt bouquets, flowers and floral accessories (buttonholes, brooches, hair pieces).

Erin G Dresses - Bespoke bridal and bridesmaid dresses and accessories (including garters and eye masks too)

Hannah Moore Flowers - A freelance florist specialising in individually designed wedding flowers. Using fresh seasonal flowers, plants and accessories to create beautiful bridal and reception flowers with a vintage/natural feel.

Hanimai - Beautiful handmade wedding stationery designed to complement your theme.

A full list of suppliers will be posted on the Fusion Wedding Events blog the week before the event.

Music to soothe the soul

There will be live performances throughout the day from a variety of singers, bands and musicians.

Cuppa anyone?

The Pop Up Vintage Tea Shop is a must visit, run by the amazing Ruth Tidd from the Flying Ducks Catering Company. Their retro duck-egg blue, British converted caravan is stylish and beautiful, 12ft of loveliness and offers a mouth-watering menu to match. With everything from their famous fish finger sandwiches and stumble crumble to retro cocktails & canapés.

Make the most of demos and workshops

Demos at fairs can be really great inspiration, whilst workshops can teach your really clever, practical and useful skills. At the fair their will be demos and workshops throughout the day, including the return of the popular ‘Simple Fascinators from Recycled Materials’ workshop run by Beth from Mme B’s Boutique. A short workshop on creating a basic clip or comb fascinator using recycled materials (fabric remnants, lace, buttons etc.). Participants will be shown how to create simple fabric flowers and butterflies, and to create their own designs to take home. Places are limited, so sign up online in advance to guarantee your seat! We ask for a £5 donation towards materials.

Try out that vintage look?

Visit the Pop Up Parlour for all your vintage hair and make-up needs. Appointments are on a first come first serve basis on the day.

How do I sign up?

What about the venue?

Mill Hall, Newbury isn’t just a beautiful Manor House and wedding venue, it’s so much more.

Along with the Mary Hare Secondary School, Mary Hare educates over 220 deaf young people each year. All the profits from Mill Hall weddings and events support the amazing work done at Mary Hare School.

So, if you’re getting married towards the end of the year, 2014 or even 2015 this really is a wedding fair you don’t want to miss. Put this date in your diary now… Sunday 22nd September 2013, Mill Hall, Newbury.
